Morocco is set to host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, aiming to deliver an unprecedented edition of the prestigious continental football tournament.
In coordination with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the Moroccan authorities have announced the introduction of an e-Visa requirement for fans from several African countries, including Tunisia and Algeria, wishing to travel to Morocco to attend matches. The e-Visa system will be linked to a new digital application called “Yalla,” which combines the fan ID, ticket purchases, and the e-Visa into one platform. Fans will not be allowed entry to stadiums or fan zones without registering through the app.

In terms of organization, the tournament will be spread across six Moroccan cities and nine major stadiums, including the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat (with a seating capacity of 69,000) and the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier (75,000 seats).
Ticket sales will be phased, with pre-registration opening from September 12 to 24, 2025. The first exclusive phase for Visa cardholders will start on September 25, followed by general ticket sales beginning on September 27, with approximately 30% of stadium capacity allocated in this stage. Additional sales phases will occur in October and November, with final ticket sales starting on November 21, 2025.
As part of the tournament’s preparation, numerous stadiums and facilities in Rabat, Tangier, and Marrakesh are undergoing upgrades as part of a comprehensive plan to ensure infrastructure and logistical readiness. Meanwhile, Visa, the official partner, continues to offer electronic payment services and ticket purchasing solutions.
