The Digital Ambassador Program develops the next generation of digital communication experts. Carthage Magazine identifies college students¹ who are passionate about Tunisia and media to play an active role in engaging with and developing Carthage Magazine’s audience. Digital Ambassadors will develop their communication skills by sharing positive news about Tunisia with diverse communities across the globe.

Program Objectives:

  • Develop social media and digital communication skills to create new experiences for new audiences to engage with Tunisia in a deeper and more meaningful way.
  • Strengthen personal relationship with Tunisia and the Tunisian culture.

TEᗩᗰ ᑕᗩᗰᑭᗩIGᑎ TᖇᗩᑕK

Ambassadors on the Team Campaign Track will work with other ambassadors across the country to produce and execute an innovative social media campaign.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work together virtually throughout the school year to execute their campaign, distribute Carthage Magazine content via social media across various online communities, and plan at least one event on their campus
  • Participate in a monthly 60-minute social media training session with the Carthage Magazine team and guest experts in the field
  • Participate in a weekly 30-minute team call with the Carthage Magazine staff
  • Attend a sponsored final retreat to present group campaign

Qualifications:

  • 18-28 years old and enrolled at a University
  • Experience in social media and digital promotion
  • Experience in working with teams and ability to work effectively with others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Desire to learn more about Tunisia and to promote the country’s rich and diverse culture with audiences worldwide.
  • Ability to track and fulfill one’s own work
  • Skills not required, but a plus: graphic design, film/editing, journalism, copy-writing, event planning

When

  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Stipend

  • 1000 TND (paid in two installments, 500 TND per semester at completion).

IᑎᖴᒪᑌEᑎᑕEᖇ TᖇᗩᑕK

The Influencer Track is for students who want to use their own social media skills for a greater purpose. Digital Ambassadors on this track will learn how to utilize their online communities to spread content about issues that are important to them, while simultaneously growing their own influence and gaining a larger following. For example, one ambassador who is interested in fashion might focus on becoming a fashion influencer, while also using his or her platform to educate about fashion culture in Tunisia.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Attend an initial online training session
  • Participate in monthly 15-minute check-in calls with the Carthage Magazine staff
  • Participate in monthly 60-minute social media training sessions
  • Use their influencer page to post about Carthage Magazine
  • Hit certain engagement metrics.

Qualifications

  • 18-28 years old and enrolled at a University
  • Has experience in social media, has a following, and is interested in growth
  • Specializes in a specific niche (fashion, food, sports, health, technology, social action, travel)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to track and fulfill one’s own work
  • Commitment to being responsive to and responsible for regular communication with Carthage Magazine staff

When

  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Stipend

  • 500 TND (with the opportunity to make up to an additional 500 TND, awarded based on engagement results).
