As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was set to start speaking in front of the UN General Assembly, dozens of delegates streamed out of the room.
Over 100 diplomats from 77 countries, including Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and South Africa, staged a mass walkout from the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 26, 2025, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a 41-minute speech defending Israel’s military campaigns in Gaza.
Netanyahu rejected recent Palestinian state recognitions by Spain, Ireland, and Norway, compared granting statehood to arming terrorists, and announced that Israeli forces broadcast his address via Gaza’s mobile networks to pressure the release of 48 remaining hostages.
He highlighted claimed successes in eliminating leaders from Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, and Iran, amid the 23-month war that has killed over 60,000 Palestinians according to several estimates.
