Ever wondered about the perfect places for Americans to move to? Well, we’re making things clear here for you.
According to Business Insider, Tunisia ranks in the 4th position among twenty other democratic countries that are suited for Americans to move to, considering the Covid-19 pandemic.
The source describes Tunisia as “a welcoming country, where the climate is pleasant and life is affordable.”
Business Insider also chosen the 20 countries based on health security, mentioning Americans who want to leave their country, — once travel from the US to other countries is permitted, can move to Tunisia, ranked 4th best country to live in.
“This North African country ranked high on our list because of its ideal annual temperature of 70 degrees in 2016, low cost of living, and low number of average new coronavirus cases per capita in mid-July, said the web site.”
Business Insider mentions as well that Tunisia has a Migrant Acceptance Index of 6.47, higher than the global score of 5.34.
“You will need to get a residence permit if you plan to stay longer than 90 days, otherwise you can travel without a visa, according to the US Department of State.
If you are looking to become a permanent resident in this country, you’ll have to live there for five continuous years with a temporary residence,” Business Insider pointed out.
5 Metrics
In the same article, Business Insider mentioned “if you’re looking for ideal temperatures, low living costs, and a welcoming country, one of these places (20 listed countries) might be good for your next move.
“If you’re looking to leave the United States — for whatever reason — this list could help you find a welcoming country that isn’t too expensive to live in and has good weather.”
To identify the best places, five metrics thought to be important to consider when looking for the next best country after the pandemic were looked at, Business Insider specified, placing Australia and Uruguay at the top of the list, followed by New Zealand (3rd), Tunisia (4th) and Spain (5th).
They are average temperatures, living costs, how welcoming a country is to migrants, the country’s score on the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Democracy Index, and declining daily coronavirus cases.
Then, each metric was rescaled to a five-point scale so as to determine a total score across metrics and find the best countries.
Based on the five metrics, Australia ranked at the top of the list because it’s close to the ideal temperature, has a low average number of new coronavirus cases per capita, and has a higher welcoming-of-migrants score than other countries on our list.
It should be remembered that last June FORBES ranked Tunisia among the top 7 major tourist destinations in post-COVID-19.
