Refund Policy

By Editorial Staff

Effective: May 13, 2026.

We sell digital products — ebooks delivered instantly as PDF, EPUB, and (where applicable) MP3 files. Because of the nature of digital goods, our refund policy is straightforward.

Our General Policy

Once a digital product has been downloaded, it can’t be returned in any meaningful sense — we can’t take the file back from your device. We therefore treat completed downloads as final sales and don’t offer refunds for change-of-mind purchases.

When We Will Issue a Refund

We’ll review a refund request within fourteen (14) days of purchase if any of the following apply:

  • The file you received is corrupted, incomplete, or won’t open, and our support team can’t resolve the issue with you
  • You were charged twice for the same product because of a technical error at checkout
  • The product is substantially different from what was described on its sales page
  • You haven’t yet downloaded the file (so the licence is effectively unused)

How to Request a Refund

Email us at info@carthagemagazine.com with:

  • Your order number (in your purchase confirmation email)
  • A short description of the issue
  • For technical problems, a screenshot if you can

We aim to respond within three (3) business days. If your request qualifies, we’ll process the refund to your original payment method. Banks and card networks typically take five to ten business days to display the credit on your statement.

EU and UK Customers

Under EU and UK consumer law, you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period to withdraw from a purchase. For digital content, that right ends when supply of the content begins — which on our shop happens immediately after checkout, when the download link is delivered. By proceeding to download the file, you waive your right of withdrawal.

The exceptions listed above (corrupted file, duplicate charge, product not as described, file not yet downloaded) still apply.

Tunisian Customers

Your statutory rights under Loi n° 2000-83 du 9 août 2000 relative aux échanges et au commerce électroniques and applicable consumer protection law are not affected by this policy. If anything in this policy conflicts with your statutory rights, those statutory rights prevail.

Chargebacks

Before filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer, please contact us. Most issues — wrong file, missing email, double charge — we can resolve in a day. Chargebacks are slow and expensive for everyone involved, and we’d rather fix the problem directly.

Gifted Purchases

If you bought an ebook as a gift, refund eligibility is the same as for a personal purchase. The recipient can request the refund on the original buyer’s behalf with the order number.
