The Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions in El Kef is the grand jewel that showcases all the Northwestern vibrant culture and its tumultuous history.

It is considered as the most epochal monument in Sidi Bou Makhlouf, since it was built in the 18th century, and founded in 1974 right in the mausoleum of Sidi Ali Ben Aissa.

Moreover, it is nestled in the superb Sufi complex that was founded in 1784. So, when you visit this museum, you can only expect a deep revelry in the plethora of equestrian traditions along with the rich authentic heritage of El Kef.

Therefore, walking down the alley that encircles the kasbah leading you towards the museum’s big doors, you will be extremely bewitched by this fundamental beautiful relic that you won’t resist your eager curiosity to soak up the remarkable beauty of a new place.

Starting with the first room you will discover a marvelous collection of traditional jewelry and bridal costumes.

Arriving in the third room, you will fall in love with the impressive collection of the village pottery.

And finally finishing up with the fourth room, which is consecrated to the equestrian art with all its accessories, saddles, guns, dress costumes and headdresses.

In conclusion, the local museum is more like a historic fortress of cultural display.

So from ribbed white domes and octagonal minaret lavishly decorated with emerald green ceramics captivating your eyes to Berber tents and farming tools capturing your soul.

They all properly represent an enthroned prestigious legacy that keeps on commemorating countless memories. Thus, by visiting the museum, you can only marvel at this regional shrine of ethnic representation.
