Nearshoring Outsourcing software development to Tunisia

Over the past few years, the software development market in Tunisia has grown significantly. With a concentration on fostering a thriving tech environment, the country has achieved extraordinary success.

With a large number of computer science graduates, Tunisia has developed a highly educated and talented labor force. Developers who are adaptable and motivated work here. This talent reservoir is one of the nation’s competitive advantages due to its reasonably priced software development solutions. In addition, it is located in North Africa, making it an ideal destination for European businesses seeking software development services.

The Tunisian government has taken proactive steps to promote the growth of the IT market. They were responsible for the establishment of technology centers and the introduction of incentives for foreign investors.

No surprise the country’s startup ecosystem is thriving. Numerous funding initiatives, accelerators, and incubators foster innovation in software development. Additionally, well-known international IT companies such as Alcatel and IBM operate in the country. It is worth noting that Tunisia’s tech sector accounts for around 7.5% of the country’s GDP, according to Smart Tunisia.

Highly Skilled Workforce

Tunisia’s strong focus on education, particularly in STEM fields, has produced a highly skilled workforce, including full stack developers, front end developers, and other software professionals. Such a skilled workforce ensures that software development projects are of high quality and efficient.

Tunisia has more than 65.000 graduates every year, of which 10.000 are in the ICT field. 35% of graduates specialize in computer science and other tech fields.

Businesses considering outsourcing will experience significant cost reductions as a result of lower developers’ expenses, making it possible for companies to access top-tier talent without breaking the bank.

Competitive Pricing

Tunisia is actually one of the most affordable countries in the Mediterranean region. Outsourcing to Tunisia offers competitive pricing for software development services when compared to Western countries.

By nearshoring to Tunisia, businesses can tap into the country’s skilled talent pool and advanced tech infrastructure at a fraction of the cost.

Cutting-Edge Software Development Companies

Tunisia is home to a wide range of software development firms that provide a vast array of services to meet a variety of business requirements.

Businesses can find the ideal partner to bring their software projects to life by contacting software development firms in Tunisia that specialize in cutting-edge technologies such as AI and machine learning.

Strong Communication & Collaboration

Tunisia’s business culture places an enormous value on open communication and collaboration, making it simple for businesses to collaborate with their Tunisian tech partners.

Furthermore, Tunisia’s workforce is bilingual, speaking both French and English (alongside Arabic which is the official language). This language fluency makes it easier for corporations and outsourcing teams to communicate and collaborate, allowing for efficient project management and execution.

An Optimized IT Infrastructure

Tunisia has made substantial investments to foster an environment favorable to technological development. There are 10 Technoparks and 18 Cyberparks that focus on ICT services, such as software development. This encourages the growth of a business-friendly environment.

The export of ICT services accounts for approximately 10% of all services exported. There are currently over 2000 ICT companies operating in Tunisia, of which 12% are foreign-owned.

Data Protection & Intellectual Property Rights

Tunisia has established an adequate legal framework to protect data security and intellectual property rights. Numerous laws were enacted to protect sensitive data and reduce potential threats to data privacy. The National Authority for Personal Data Protection (INPDP) is in charge of protecting sensitive data.

In addition, Tunisia signed Convention 108 of the Council of Europe alongside four non-European nations. The treaty was signed by twenty nations, including the United Kingdom. Thus, Tunisia is preferable to other nations with inadequate data protection laws.

Dedicated Teams

From its growing start-up ecosystem to its highly skilled workforce and competitive pricing, Tunisia’s growing appeal as a nearshoring destination for the tech industry is undeniable.

By choosing to outsource their software development projects to Tunisia, businesses can access world-class tech talent and cutting-edge solutions that can help them stay ahead in the competitive digital landscape. Businesses can also gain access to highly skilled and devoted teams focused on delivering superior software solutions and exceptional customer service.

Close Geographical Proximity

Tunisia’s strategic location at the junction of the eastern and western basin of the Mediterranean, and only 140 km from Europe, makes it an attractive nearshoring destination for businesses in Europe, North America and the Middle East.

For instance, one can fly from London to Tunis in under 3 hours, Paris to Tunis in about an hour and so on. This makes it easier to communicate in person if needed. It is a great country for on-site collaboration.
