ATM’s In Tunisia: International Debit & Credit Cards and Fees2 min read

ATM's in Tunisia

ATM’s are everywhere in Tunisia, with all bank branches having outdoor ATM’s which usually work with international credit and debit cards. Additionally, ATM’s can be found at airports and malls.

Using ATM’s in Tunisia

ATM’s in Tunisia accept most common international credit cards such as Mastercard, Visa and American Express, although sometimes cards can not work at ATM’s from certain banks, so if you have a problem, try a machine from another bank before giving up – it could be as simple as that.

Luckily, ATM’s in Tunisia are tourist-friendly as they support 3 language options, Arabic, French and English.

Am I Charged to Use ATM’s in Tunisia?

Yes, there will be a charge for using an international credit card in a Tunisian ATM (approx. 10 Tunisian Dinars), plus in many cases, a commission fee. Also, be aware that the exchange rate you receive might not be the most competitive available.

Having said this, using credit cards to withdraw money can be more convenient and safer than carrying around large volumes of cash.
