An FCR Once Every 10 Years for Tunisians Living Abroad

The deputies of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People voted on Sunday December 10, 2023 for article 52 of the 2024 finance law, allowing Tunisians living abroad to benefit, starting from January 1, 2024, for an FCR, once every ten years. The FCR is a customs privilege issued by the state giving the ability to import or purchase tax-free vehicles.

The new tax benefits are linked to the acquisition of a passenger or utility vehicle, motorcycle not exceeding a payload capacity of three and a half tonnes (3.5T).

Tunisians living abroad can benefit, depending on their choice, from complete or partial exemption from taxes on purchases on the domestic market and on imports. Tunisians residing abroad currently benefit from this advantage only once as part of their definitive return to Tunisia.

The conditions and procedures for the application of this article will be established subsequently by a decree.

Absolutely! The law must change, it’s so ridiculous… We have in Canada a 10 years used car much reliable and newer than a 3 years old in Tunisia. In addition, why should the capitalists, meaning, Car Dealers control the market, they’re crooks, they’re not helping the Economy at all rather filling their big bellies no less, they don’t really care for the country at all, plus their cars are junk, they dismantle many comforting accessories and if you like, it’s an addition to the price, it means junky cars with triple profit (300%) or more, while cars from outside are fully loaded and inspected. Personally I hate capitalists up to their guts. They’re are not patriots, but rather they are the bloodsuckers, filthy crooks, they are plunders, thieves and fraudulents. Here is a question to all, Sincerely who is the one supporting the country economy, of course, it’s our citizens abroad, because we bring the hard currency every day and then, but the failures never bring a single penny, but rather empty the treasury daily. Here I wonder who is more deserving of having the privileges, the citizen abroad or the vampires!
