US diplomats warn Biden of “losing Arab publics for a generation” over its strong and unconditional support to Israel’s deadly war on Gaza.

American diplomats in the Arab world have issued stark warnings to the Biden administration that its strong and uncoditional support of Israel’s destructive and deadly war on Gaza “is losing us Arab publics for a generation,” according to a diplomatic cable obtained by CNN.

The cable highlights the significant apprehension expressed by American officials about the growing anger and hate against the United States that erupted soon after Israel launched its war against the besieged Gaza strip.

“We are losing badly on the messaging battlespace,” reads a Wednesday cable from the US Embassy in Oman, citing conversations with “a wide range of trusted and sober-minded contacts.”

The undocntional support of the United States for Israel’s deadly war is being perceived, according to the cable, “as material and moral culpability in what they consider to be possible war crimes.”

The second-highest US official based in Muscat authored the embassy cable, which was distributed to the CIA, FBI, and the White House’s National Security Council, among others. Despite being a single cable from a regional embassy, it offers an intimate glimpse into the concern surrounding the escalating anti-American sentiment that is permeating the Middle East.

CNN also obtained a cable from the American embassy in Cairo that was relayed back to Washington. This cable contained the commentary in a state-run Egyptian publication that “President Biden’s cruelty and disregard for Palestinians exceeded that of all previous US presidents,” which was included in a daily media summary.

The United States’ support of Israel has put President Joe Biden under increasing domestic and international pressure in the wake of images of devastation in Gaza and the dire humanitarian crisis in the region. Although the administration has opposed demands for a ceasefire, officials have endeavored to increase the volume of aid entering Gaza and advocated for humanitarian pauses to facilitate the escape of civilians from the conflict and permit more aid to flow into the enclave.

In recent days, US allies in the Arab world have made clear their deep anger at the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
