Six associations of the professional Tunisian diaspora, each active in a different country, have joined forces to organize an unprecedented summer gathering to connect their talent networks and strengthen their ties with Tunisia.
The ATUGE (Association of Tunisians from Great Schools), STN (Swiss Tunisian Network), TAYP (Tunisian American Young Professionals), TTU (Tunisian Talents United), the Tunisian-Canadian Business Network, and the TAG (Tunisian Academics Society) collaborated to organize the inaugural “Diaspora Summer Networking” on Thursday, July 27 at the Golden Tulip Carthage Gammarth.
This inaugural “Diaspora Summer Networking” was a resounding success, attracting over 740 Tunisian talents, more than half of whom came from all corners of the globe: France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt and more.
In light of this collective accomplishment, the six associations have announced the formation of a strategic alliance to effectively unite their efforts.
Through this alliance, these six associations intend to collaborate with all forces of change in Tunisia to promote an ambitious new national strategy that capitalizes on the vast potential of the diaspora and addresses the country’s enormous challenges.
In the upcoming months, the alliance will organize the Tunisia Global Forum, a significant international event that will serve as the global and unified version of the various forums and events previously organized by the six associations in their respective host nations.
The Tunisia Global Forum will be a significant business event, involving a large number of institutional partners and businesses, and taking place for several days around the globe. It will energize the global networks of Tunisian talent, increase the international visibility of Tunisian business, and open up new horizons of opportunity for our talent, enterprises, and nation.
ATUGE
ATUGE is active in three countries through its branches in Tunisia, France, and the United Kingdom. It has been operating for 34 years and has more than 8,000 members globally. ATUGE’s mission is to cultivate and animate its member network with a spirit of companionship, solidarity, general interest, and openness to others. Tunisian American Young Professionnels (TAYP)
Inspiring by the Tunisian Revolution of January 2011, TAYP was founded on the premise that economic prosperity is essential to a successful transition to a new Tunisia. TAYP utilizes the experience of the Tunisian diaspora in the United States in order to generate economic opportunities and dynamic exchanges between Tunisia and the United States.
By connecting professionals and forming public-private partnerships, TAYP implements projects and initiatives aimed at promoting exports, entrepreneurship, exchanges, and education. Visit TAYP‘s website for more information and to support their mission.
Swiss Tunisian Network
Swiss Tunisian Network is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase Tunisian awareness by promoting Tunisians, their assets, and Tunisian culture.
This is accomplished with the assistance of our members, who are highly qualified Tunisian professionals residing in Switzerland who wish to be a driving force for economic development in Tunisia.
Tunesische Akademiker Gesellschaft (TAG)
TAG (Association of Tunisian Students and Graduates in Germany) was founded in 1999 by Tunisian students and graduates of the Technical University of Munich with the objective of promoting Tunisian-German cooperation in the domains of education, economy, and culture.
TAG provides its students with guidance and assistance from the time they arrive in Germany until they graduate. After graduation, TAG advises and assists its members in their employment search and organizes events to aid in the development of their professional networks.
TAG also arranges meetings and business events to facilitate connections between German economic and industrial actors and Tunisian businesses and decision-makers.
Tunisian Talents United
The founding members of TTU established the organization with the purpose of identifying, attracting, developing, and mentoring Tunisia’s most promising young leaders.
TTU will bring together local and international Tunisian professionals to share their experiences, expertise, and counsel through a series of forums, workshops, and engagement platforms that will inspire and guide the next generation of future leaders.
Le Réseau Tuniso-Canadien des Affaires (RTCA)
RTCA is a Tunisian association whose goal is the bilateral development of economic, cultural, and scientific ties between Tunisia and Canada. RTCA’s mission includes:
- Keeping abreast of commercial opportunities that serve the interests of Canadians and Tunisians.
- Referring RTCA members to their Canadian and Tunisian counterparts.
- Maintaining communication forums for RTCA stakeholders.
- Providing collaborators with a verified network of connections.
