The Chevening scholarship is one of the world’s most prestigious and covers students’ full costs of Master’s education at any University in the UK. In 2022, Chevening offered 8 scholarships to Tunisians in various fields including Environment, Finance, Business, International Relations, Development and Law. Women made up more than half of the successful scholars.
Applications for Chevening Scholarships to study in the UK for the academic year 2023/2024 are open from August 2, until November 1, 2021, with applications to be submitted via the following URL: www.chevening.org/apply.
Chevening Scholarships are awarded to individuals from all backgrounds who can demonstrate that they have the commitment and skills required to create positive change, and can show how a UK Master’s degree will help them do that. The scholarship provides full financial support for scholars to pursue for any eligible one year master’s degree at any UK University, as well as access to variety of exclusive academic, professional, and cultural experiences. Chevening also offers fellowships in the fields of arts and culture, and Islamic studies.
Chevening Scholarships for Tunisians
In 2022, Chevening offered 8 scholarships to Tunisians in various fields including Environment, Finance, Business, International Relations, Development and Law. Women made up more than half of the successful scholars.
Since the program was created in 1983, over 55,000 individuals worldwide and over 200 Tunisians have had the opportunity to study in the UK, the result of 37 years of investment.
Tunisian Chevening Alumni include Achref Aouadi; civil society activist and founder and president of the Tunisian watchdog organization I-Watch, Anis Zahraz; Department Head in the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Family, Nidhal Bencheikh; Counsellor in Public Interests, Department Head in the Ministry of Development and International Cooperation, Karim Sliti; former Monitor Assistant to the General Control of Public Interests in the Prime Minister’s office.
For the 2023/2024 academic year, there are more than 1,500 scholarships on offer globally, demonstrating the UK’s ongoing commitment towards developing the leaders of tomorrow.
Main Criteria
To apply for the scholarship, you must be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country, and Tunisia is one of them. By the time you apply, you must at least have the following:
- An undergraduate degree. (3-year Tunisian License)
- 2 years of work experience. All work experience counts: full-time, part-time, project work, internships, and even volunteering
- Proficiency in the English language. You need an IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall and at least 5.5 in each section
- Readiness to return to your home country. According to the Chevening terms and regulations, you must return to your country of citizenship and remain there for at least two years
