Tozeur–Tunis Train Resumes Service

The National Tunisian Railway Company (SNCFT) has announced the resumption of passenger train services between Tozeur and Tunis starting Monday, September 1, 2025, after nearly eight years of suspension.

This decision aims to facilitate travel for residents of the south to the capital and to strengthen the country’s rail connectivity. The line, eagerly awaited by travelers, is expected to improve Tozeur’s accessibility and boost its appeal, particularly in terms of tourism and economic development.

The suspension of this connection had forced residents to rely mainly on road transport, which was often more expensive and less comfortable.

The new schedule is as follows:

  • Departure from Tunis at 7:35 a.m., arriving in Tozeur at 6:30 p.m.
  • Return from Tozeur at 6:00 a.m., arriving in Tunis at 4:27 p.m.
