Back in 2016, IREX Tunisia launched the TJSP Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fund. The AIEF provides seed funding through small grants to alumni to launch innovative or entrepreneurial activities benefiting their local community. IREX confirmed that the received entries were wide and varied. One of the winning projects was Good’Ness, a nonprofit founded by Saber Ben Hassen, together with a team of TJSP alumni.

GoodNess.Tn is now Tunisia’s first and largest volunteering platform. Its main objective is to connect volunteers to community-based organizations that need their help. It has developed a unique business model that ensures self-sustaining and continuous volunteering activities throughout the year.

The idea for Good’Ness comes from the founders’ volunteer experiences while in the United States. Many of the colleges and universities in the US have programs for community engagement.

As featured on IREX website, The founders of GoodNess willing to promote a culture of volunteerism in Tunisia. By volunteering and gaining work experience, people can develop leadership and collaboration skills to address problems in their communities.

“By instilling a mindset of volunteering, those in need will find a helping hand, and youth ideas and projects will find a way to become a reality,” says Sarah.

“Volunteering is important,” Saber believes, “because when people come and work together, it builds a stronger society. Good’Ness is about spreading a volunteer culture in Tunisia so that volunteering becomes a normal part of everyday life her.”
