Getting a SIM card in Tunisia and a Tunisian Phone Number is easy and straightforward. There are three mobile phone service providers in Tunisia.
You will only need an unlocked phone, passport and some cash in local currency, Tunisian Dinar, for buying a SIM card.

You can buy a local SIM card (called Puce) anywhere in Tunisia but it is best to buy one right at the airport as soon as you get in the country and get connected right away.
In all of Tunisia’s international airports you will see the shops of all the main three Tunisian mobile phone service operators just after passing the customs area. You can buy a SIM card there and the staff will help you to set it up on your phone.

If ever you didn’t get a SIM card from the airport, you can still for sure find branches of all three mobile carriers almost everywhere, such as in any shopping mall, in street phone shops, etc.
Mobile Phone Service Providers in Tunisia
There are three main mobile phone service operators in Tunisia:
- Ooredoo Tunisia
- Tunisie Telecom
- Orange Tunisia
All three providers offer prepaid SIM cards and have 4G capability providing fairly good coverage everywhere but the most remote corners of the country. Local as well as international calls are included with any prepaid Tunisian SIM card.
For the price of calls and Internet services, there is not much difference between the three Telecom carriers. Almost same exact prices. For example, a call to France would cost 1 Tunisian dinar a minute.
Which Tunisian SIM Card Provider to Choose?
As confirmed ablove, all mobile service providers in Tunisia offer almost the same deals and prices for all packages. The differences are minor.
If you’re just a simple traveller and don’t have very specific needs, get any local prepaid SIM card from any of the three telecom providers and top it up once there is not fund available to make calls or max speed Internet is used.
It costs 5 Tunisian Dinars (about $2) to buy a local SIM card in Tunisia and have your Tunisian phone number ready to use. The Tunisia area code is 216.
