Tunisian opposition leader Abir Moussi, head of the Free Constitutional Party, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison by the criminal court at the Tunis Court of First Instance. Mariem Sassi, also involved in the case, received a two-year sentence.
Moussi appeared before the court on Friday, December 12, 2025, in detention, to face charges related to orchestrating an attack aimed at altering the structure of the state. The case is connected to the Registry Office at the Presidency of the Republic.
The trial has garnered significant attention due to Moussi’s prominent role in Tunisia’s political landscape and the serious nature of the charges against her.
