During the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic, the first case of COVID-2019 in Tunisia was tested positive on a Tunisian-Italian man on March, 7th, 2020. The man and his family were in isolation, as required by those following the Tunisian health authority’s guidelines who were in Italy or other highly infected countries such as China and France.

Latest Updates for the Coronavirus in Tunisia

In a statement given to the media at a press conference held on the evening of Friday, March 13th, 2020, the Tunisian Ministry of Health announced the increase in the number of COVID-19 coronavirus contaminations indicating that the assessment has gone from 13 to 16 confirmed cases. The Ministry representative added that new infections were recorded this Friday in Bizerte, Ariana and Tunis. He said that 50% of the confirmed cases are imported.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Health Alert in Tunisia

The Ministry of Health in Tunisia is monitoring the respiratory illness outbreak caused by coronavirus (COVID-19). The Ministry made available a special platform to post updates about the Coronavirus outbreak in the country every day with the latest medical advice and official reports.
